Hey there! My name is Jarred Truschke. I’m a photographer based in Mesa, AZ. I focus on environmental portrait photography, taking photos of people in natural settings rather than in a studio. I love the way natural settings help to bring out our authentic selves!
I became serious about photography while I was in college. Taking photos for class made me focus on photography as a practice, rather than casually taking photos. As I began to approach photography as a practice, I found that photography helped me to see the world differently. I became much more interested in trying to capture people’s authentic identities through photography. Since then, I’ve set out to photograph people’s authentic selves, simply, as my authentic self.
As a photographer and in my daily life, I strive for simplicity and authenticity. During a photo session, I try to photograph a person’s soul, rather than merely focusing appearance only. Natural environments are a great place for us all to let our guard down a little bit and connect on a deeper level, so I prefer to photograph people in natural settings.
If you’re interested in a photography session, I’d love the opportunity to get to know you a little bit, and take some authentic portraits!
I try to approach life as my authentic self as well, striving to be self-aware and constantly learning about life and photography, since they are so closely related for me. Because of this, I tend to write about more than strictly photography. I share my my my thoughts on life, growth, leadership, creativity, and my other interests on my blog.
I’ve designed and self-published a journal and planner called MAKE ROOM as well, utilizing a framework that I created to help keep my own life organized and focused on what’s most important. You can learn more about the MAKE ROOM Planner & Journal if you’d like. I bring it up from time to time on my blog since it’s so intertwined in how I approach life.
